My name is Andy Holden, and it is my privilege to introduce myself as the Head of School for Oakhill. I qualified as a teacher over 25 years ago and have followed a slightly unconventional path to find myself in this role. My training is in secondary science however my experience encompasses the fields of animal management, outdoor education and heritage gardens amongst other areas. I started at Selworthy as a TA and cover teacher in January 2012, with my role and responsibility growing rapidly over the years. I played a key role in the design and realisation of Hazelbrook, however Oakhill is where my heart lies.  I have loved helping Oakhill grow and develop its identity as a primary school and in this I am supported by a dedicated team of teachers and support staff to truly embody what it means to be special.

There is rarely a day that goes by that my job doesn't make me smile, I truly am a lucky man
